Biography
Youyang Hu (b. 1995), Ph.D., is an interdisciplinary researcher, designer, and artist. He is a Project Assistant Professor at The University of Tokyo and co-founder of the art collective Synphysica. His interdisciplinary practice explores relationships among living beings, environments, and technology from a more-than-human perspective, integrating art and design practices with human-computer interaction (HCI), interactive media, and emerging technologies.
His work has been exhibited internationally, including multiple appearances at the Ars Electronica Festival, as well as exhibitions at the Asia Culture Center (ACC), Tokyo Arts and Space (TOKAS), the ETH AI Center, and the National Taiwan Museum of Fine Arts. His academic research has been presented at CHI, SIGGRAPH, SIGGRAPH Asia, DIS, IASDR, and ISEA, and published in Leonardo.
