Response Traces is a installation that attempts to connect grand-
son with his grandfather. The typewriter used by grandfather is
endowed with self-typing function. It writes poems about the
growth of grandchild composed by grandfather. By reading those
poems, Grandson comes back to the slice of life lived with his
grandfather, and responses them one by one. There is a electric
heater unit heating the key up in to stamp word onto thermal
paper for delivering warmth of affection. The outcome of the
installation bear witness to the story and love between grandfather and grandson.
